A reception welcoming participants to the conference will begin at 7 pm on Sunday 25 January, at St. Margaret's College, offering cocktails and a buffet-style light meal. The Conference Dinner (included in the full conference registration fee) will be held on Monday evening at St. Margaret's College. The Conference Excursion on Tuesday will involve sight-seeing around the Otago Peninsula and include a barbeque dinner, a guided tour of historic Larnach Castle, and a unique visit to Penguin Place, a yellow-eyed penguin conservation reserve. Conference attendees may also take advantage of additional sight-seeing opportunities such as the world-famous Taieri Gorge Railway and Otago harbour cruises.

After the conference, on Saturday 31 January, the opening event of Otago's 150th Anniversary celebrations will be held.  This will be an outdoor concert featuring the Dunedin Sinfonia and the Dunedin City Jazz Band with soloists Rob Guest (star of Australian productions of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables) and Judy Barnes.
